Passports with Purpose
“Passports with Purpose is the brainchild of four Seattle travelbloggers seeking to do good and raise awareness of the great work travelbloggers are doing… Over coffee, we decided that this would be a great time of year to harness our connections and make a difference. To that end, we've started Passports with Purpose, a travelblogger-driven fundraiser for Heifer International. And we'd love you to be part of it.
The raffle committee will select winners on December 30th. You'll be notified of the winner for your prize and are responsible for delivering it. And the raffle ticket proceeds (minus minimal transaction fees to FirstGiving) will all go to Heifer International.”
After doing some research about Heifer International and knowing and respecting Pam’s work as a travelblogger, I decided to offer a prize to the Passports with Purpose raffle. I very much like the idea of people helping others and possibly being the receiver of one of these great prizes. All you have to do, to win a prize, is buy a/some/many raffle tickets (10 USD/ticket).
(“3 Nights at the Wyland Waikiki in Hawaii ($400+)”… if I was to win this prize, what do you think the chances would be of getting my husband, the Limpet of Luebeck to fly there with me? A gal can dream.)
The gift I am offering is five packages of moo postcards (20 postcards/package). Moo postcards are high quality colour prints, the crème de la crème of postcards. The winner can choose 20 motifs from this collage set and I will send off the moo postcards packages to the winner or to friends they wish to gift the postcards to.
These last years of blogging and participating in social online community work has been a rich learning experience for me. First, I would never have started or continued with my collages, if it wasn’t for your positive resonance. Secondly, I wouldn’t have met you guys, and what would life be without you (Tine, Maria, Fee, and Kim you’re exempted from this point since I knew you IRL)? Thirdly, I would never have “met” Kiva, Nabuur, Rev. Wasike, and many more people or organisations that are doing such good work with enthusiasm and care.
